A mountain pass made famous by the Giro d’Italia in the historic Fauniera stage, the scene of the unforgettable attack by “Il Falco” Paolo Savoldelli.
On the medium route, it will be climbed once from the Valdieri side. On the long route, Madonna del Colletto will be tackled twice, from both sides.
The climb of the never-before-raced Colle delle Goderie will be the stage where the Polka Dot Jersey is decided.
A 5 km ascent with an average gradient of 11%.
It represents the natural link between the Vermenagna Valley and the Gesso Valley—a strategic connection between the municipalities of Vernante and Roaschia. The climb begins with a paved section featuring demanding gradients, followed by a gravel stretch that will make this race truly unique.
With L’Étape Piemonte, this mountain pass will be officially opened and will be ridden by thousands of cyclists throughout the summer. The mayors of Vernante and Roaschia, the two municipalities involved, have already expressed great enthusiasm for this choice.
The municipalities involved in the Granfondo will be: Entracque, Valdieri, Demonte, Aisone, Vinadio, Moiola, Gaiola, Roccasparvera, Vignolo, Borgo San Dalmazzo, Roccavione, Robilante, Vernante, Roaschia, the Mountain Unions of Valle Stura, Gesso and Vermenagna, and the Maritime Alps Natural Park.
